Geriatric Problems
Eyesight, hearing, and mobility are a few of the things you may find are changing with your aging pet. Some of these changes are gradual, others seem to happen over night! For some of these problems, we can make lifestyle accomodations that make our pets more comfortable. Arthritis is one such disease. With arthritis, you may notice stiffness, reluctance to jump onto objects or into the car. Or, you may only see  "slowing down". A thorough physical examination, possibly bloodwork and xrays may confirm the presence of degenerative joint disease, or arthritis. Medications are available to relieve your pet's discomfort so that he or she can move around more easily. Modifications in lifestyle can also be addressed to assist your pet. We can help you with these issues.
