INTESTINAL PARASITES IN DOGS AND CATS
Intestinal parasites can be a serious disease and at times life-threatening. These parasites are
hookworms
roundworms
whipworms
tapeworms

These parasites cause weight loss, gastrointestinal upset, malnutrition, anemia, and an unthrifty coat. A thorough physical examination of your pet as well as an examination of a stool (fecal) sample will reveal which of these parasites exists. The good news is that effective medication is available to treat these harmful parasites. The medication will be dispensed, based on your pet's current bodyweight. Don't treat your pet with over-the-counter medicines, which may be much less effective and possibly more toxic that the treatments we provide.


EXTERNAL PARASITES OF DOGS AND CATS

Dogs and cats can harbor fleas and ticks year around in Baton Rouge. Other parasites which can affect their skin are mange mites and ear mites, and lice. All of these can cause itching throughout your pet household.

There is effective treatment for all of these parasites, once a diagnosis has been made. Please contact us so we can help you. Don't use over-the-counter medicines, as they may be less effective and possibly more toxic to your pet.
